Today we zoom in on Chiqui Dingcong.
Chiqui has been a beauty enthusiast and has been doing makeup on the side since 2005, back when she was still in the advertising industry.
She then decided to pursue it full-time and learned the basics in 2011 under Mikee Raymundo and Mio Robo at the Maquillage Professional School of Makeup Artistry (MP), which was then sponsored by the world-renowned French cosmetic brand, Make Up For Ever. She is adept in the art of airbrush makeup, a skill desired by many rising artists as she honed her skills under the tutelage of Ms. Kay Rodriguez; the celebrated Temptu Pro Philippines Ambassador turned Airbrush Diva Country Manager. As a M.A.C. Guest Artist, she has attended M.A.C. Pro Masterclasses under Gregory Arlt in 2013, Caitlin Callahan in 2014, and Romero Jennings in 2015. Chiqui has also completed makeup workshops by M.A.C., Make Up Forever, Inglot, Guerlain, L’Oreal, and Suesh Toolkit to name a few.
Some would say that nothing beats experience and this is something she has at her disposal as well. She has done fashion editorial works for Town & Country Magazine, Working Mom, Status Magazine, and GIST (a subsidiary of The Philippine Star), and has worked as a Guest Artist with international cosmetic brands such as Guerlain, Benefit, and M.A.C. to name a few. She has also been also part of various plays and musicals: Teen St. Pedro (The Musical), Addams Family, Rock of Ages, Grease, and Imaginarium, and have worked on quite a number of celebrities on photo shoots and campaigns headed by Mr. Niccolo Cosme. A real gamechanger, her passion for the art as well as the industry led her to become one of the founding members of United Make-up Artists of the Philippines (UMAP), an organization of professional make-up artists which she used to head from 2012-2014.
On the side, Chiqui is an avid fan of all kinds of Ilonggo food.
